We are very careful to refer to our new building as the Parish Education Center. Although the building gives more room for our existing catechetical programs for children, for our Catholic School in its second year, and for junior and senior high school youth programs, we made sacrifices to build it because we believe that Catholic education continues for the rest of our lives. It is our firm belief that education in the faith most go from cradle to grave.
For that reason, we published a booklet each fall and spring to encourage you to take advantage of our adult formation series. There are a number of offerings which can help you grow in the understanding of your faith: a variety of Bible Studies, offered at different times of the week to fit different schedules; opportunities for Prayer and Retreats; and offerings on Catholic Theology. Session of ASK (Adults Seeking Knowledge) and Catholicism 101 are intended to review basic and fundamental Catholic teachings and practices, while the St. Pius University Series, the Reading Group, and the Theology of the Body Series are meant to give deeper reflections on Catholic teachings as they affect our adult lives.
You might also be interested in the sessions on various life skills. Those who are unemployed can benefit from the Employment Resource Ministry. Many parishioners have learned how to manager their finances better with the Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University. Others have spoken highly of Light Weigh.
See below for a schedule of these sessions and the right-hand column for a more detailed descriptions of each program. Although most of our offerings are given free of charge, there are charges for programs which come from outside the parish. Taking time to participate may involve making a sacrifice of time in your life. But, it is a sacrifice worth making, because the fruits of that sacrifice will provide a better understanding of the Catholic faith.
