Function:
The Young Adult Council (YAC) oversees and guides the St Pius Young Adults. The YAC develops the vision and direction for the community and interfaces with St Pius X Parish. (This is not primarily an event planning team. If you are interested in planning events, please contact us to get involved right away!)
Membership:
The Young Adult Council is presently composed of 12 members. Council members are to be representative of the various states of life among the young adults at the parish. Each council member commits to serving for one calendar year, with the option of continuing to serve the following year. All council members must attend the monthly council meetings, which are currently held from 6-8pm over dinner on the third Wednesday of the month. The number of members and meeting schedule may vary from year to year.
Nominations:
Anyone part of the St Pius Young Adults may nominate themself or another young adult. The current council then appoints new members from the list of nominees to fill any vacancies. The deadline for submitting nominations for the 2010 YAC is Sunday, October 18th. If nominating yourself, please indicate why you are interested in being on the council. New members will be chosen by the beginning of November and publicly announced soon thereafter.
We have many gifts and talents among the St Pius Young Adults, so those of you gifted in leadership and vision will hopefully be interested in serving the community by joining the council at some point in the future!
