Altar Servers assist the priest with sincere devotion and decorum in the spirit of the liturgy.
How the Ministry Works:
New Altar Servers attend an initial training program of two 2-hour sessions on their role, the objects used in the celebration of the liturgy, and familiarity with the structure of the Mass.
Servers submit Mass preference information and dates of unavailability for each schedule period as requested by the Liturgy & Music office.
On average, Altar Servers are scheduled once or twice a month, depending on Mass preference and number of others available for the same Mass(es).
Expectations:
This ministry is open to adults and students in grade 6 or higher.
Altar servers must dress appropriately.
Servers should arrive at Mass at least 15 minutes early and stay after Mass to complete other assigned responsibilities.
