The Bereavement Team provides support to parishioners who have lost loved ones. The Team is present at funerals in support of the families, and after the funeral throughout the following year. The Bereavement Team also acts as the host for the Mass of Remembrance and the reception held in the fall on or around the Feast of All Souls, November 2.

How the Ministry WorksThere are several ways in which parishioners can participate in the Bereavement Ministry:
- Card Writers support and console the bereaved through sending cards and notes periodically after the death.
- Team members visit the bereaved as necessary.
- Team members can also be present at the Funeral liturgy to assist the family.

Expectations
- Bereavement Team members should be able to attend several meetings throughout the year.
- Each Card Writer member volunteers to be available one month of the year, and will receive those names of parishioners who have died. They will be responsible to send cards of support and condolences to the surviving family members.
- Those involved in supporting family at the funeral liturgies will aid the family prior to, during, and after the liturgy.
