JOIN US FOR THE SIXTH ANNUAL

REGISTER HERESaint Pius X Church is excited to announce the Sixth Annual Flyin’ Lion 5K! This event features a chip-timed 5K Race and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, as well as post-race celebrations – all part of the annual weekend festivities celebrating the feast day of our patron and namesake, Saint Pius X. The 5K Race starts at 8:00 a.m. and the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk begins immediately following the start of the 5K, both starting and ending at Saint Pius X Church.
This year's race will support the teens and young adults from Saint Pius X Church who will travel to Lisbon, Portugal to participate in World Youth Day in 2023 or participate in the Youth Ministry's Annual Mission Trip.
- The World Youth Day pilgrimage takes place roughly every 3 years and gathers over a million young Catholics from around the world with Pope Francis to grow in faith through prayer, teaching, and fellowship.
- The Annual Youth Ministry Mission Trip sends teens and adults to areas in need of home repair due to natural disaster or poverty.
The Flyin’ Lion 5K provides an exciting opportunity for the church, school, and local community to come together in an active way while providing financial support to make travel to World Youth Day and the Mission Trip possible.
EVENT INFORMATION:

- Location: Saint Pius X Catholic Church, Granger, Indiana
- Events & Courses:
- 8:00 a.m. – 5K Race
- 8:05 a.m. – 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
- Strollers are allowed on both courses
- No bicycles, skateboards, or animals allowed
- All courses close by 9:00 a.m.
- Sunday, August 14: Deadline for Pre-Registration with Race Shirt
- Wednesday, August 24: Final Deadline for Pre-Registration (no race shirt)
- Saturday, August 27: Onsite Race Day Registration

PACKET PICKUP:

- Saint Pius X Church Pole Barn - located adjacent to the Parish Rectory and Athletic Fields off of Santa Monica Drive, across from the Parish Education Center (see map)

RACE TEAM
We need help from volunteers in order to make the race happen! If you are interested in helping, contact the Flyin' Lion team at flyinlion@stpius.netPARKING:
- Parking will be available in the North, East, and South Lots on the parish campus
- Access to the South and East Lots will be from Fir Road
- Access to the North Lot will be from Santa Monica Drive at SR-23 only
ROAD CLOSURES:
- Santa Monica Dr will be closed just south of the entrance to the North Parking Lot
- Grande Vista Dr and Santa Monica Dr will be closed to through traffic
- Fir Road will close between Beacon Pkwy and Cleveland Rd
- Cleveland Rd westbound will be closed
- Capital Avenue southbound will be reduced to one lane
- Beacon Parkway eastbound will be closed
RACE SHIRT:
- Race shirts are tech, dry-fit, 100% polyester material
- Sizes: Youth (S, M, L) & Adult (S, M, L, XL, XXL, 3XL)
- Available only to those who pre-register by August 14
- Shirt is included in the 5K Race fee
- Shirt is available for $10 to participants of the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk (order on Registration site)
POST-RACE CELEBRATION:
- Refreshments will be provided
- Award for top overall male & female finisher
- Additional prizes for top three male & female age group winners
