Father Steven T. Badin Council 4263
Scholarship Program
The general purpose of the Knights of Columbus Council 4263 scholarship program is to encourage the pursuit of education beyond high school by Catholic youth in our communities. The Council is motivated by the conviction that the future well-being of our Catholic community and our Country depends in large measure upon our young men and women having the opportunity to secure the advantages of a higher education. The Knights are firm believers in the knowledge and skill a college or technical education can deliver, as well as, the preparedness for our youth to undertake leadership positions in their future communities and
to serve others in various fields of endeavor.
The awarding of a scholarship is based upon:
1. Scholastic attainment deemed appropriate for higher education
2. General moral character and tenacity of academic purpose
3. Extracurricular and/or athletic participation within a school environment
4. Extracurricular activities outside of the school environment
5. Volunteer, charitable, philanthropic activity participation
6. Church activity involvement
Please note that the above requirements will be evaluated taking into consideration that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused many activities to be cancelled, postponed, or modified since March of 2020; therefore, be sure to include activities prior to that time. We are also aware that SAT/ACT scores may not be available.
A total of five (5), one thousand dollar ($1,000) non-renewable scholarships will be available in 2023.
The scholarship application and instructions can be found below or in the Parish Office area of the Parish Life Center. Deadline to apply is Wednesday, May 31, 2023. Awards will be given by June 30, 2023.
