In order to construct the new church, it was necessary to “claim” the property on which the old rectory was located – just north of the former church. Initially, moving the rectory to a new location was considered because “the house was wonderful.” But it was determined that it would be more cost effective in the long run to construct a new rectory, now located near the playing fields across Santa Monica Drive.

The construction of the new rectory utilized the services of parishioners who are in the building profession:

• Patrick Hess, a graduate of the University of Notre Dame’s School of Architecture, developed the architectural plans
• Dave Salela volunteered his time as a general contractor.
